I may be a bit late to the game but Hobby Lobby was not lost on me. I really took it in, so much so that our group chat joined in on my experience.
This happened in 2021 and I had such a hoot that I journaled this in my DayOne app. I looked back on it recently and I got such a kick out of it I thought you might want in on the shenanigans of this comical thread…
Me: Oh my gosh you guys. There’s a hobby lobby here. It’s my first time. Hold me. Should I leave my wallet in my car? 🤯
Penny: Enjoy!! Get the app, there’s a coupon to use 🥰 The first time I ever went, I filled 2 carts so be prepared. 😂😂

Me: That’s exactly what’s happening to me Paula. I stand out like a sore thumb. The workers can tell it’s my first time. Hilarious. Shock and wonder.

Me: It’s like what I always wanted Michael’s to be and more.

They called a code 1 in the isle I’m in. Is it because I’m smelling the paper?

Penny: I’ll be your roommate. We can live on the nuts and candy sold at the register. We can sleep in the fabric section with all the decorative pillows.
Heather: You clearly aren’t shopping hard enough if you can keep up on this conversation! Lol
Me: Amen to that Penny. Heather I’m using you guys to resist purchasing everything
Penny: I’m the worst to take shopping because I am that gal that says “buy both” when asked which should I get?
Me: Better to have and not need..

I still haven’t made it to the other side of the store. I’m supposed to be at Costco.
Good thing I’m wearing a mask so nobody can see me drooling

Tiffanie: This thread is cracking me up! Entering Hobby Lobby is like Christmas! The first time I went I couldn’t really shop because I was in Chicago, ack! It was torture! Last Christmas I was finally able to go in Orange County and really shop!
Me: The only way out of this place is to be starving and have to leave to eat food somewhere.
I’m hungry.
Ok I wasn’t going to buy anything but I bought some paper (of course) and some letter stickers

Kristi: When it’s in town – I’ll just have to walk. Then I can only buy what I can carry. Though I try that with Target & it doesn’t always work so well.

Me: Smart Kristi. I didn’t grab a cart. I think that helped

Kristi: With the added benefit that lots of trips is lots of exercise 😜

Also, when I’m traveling to or through LA I always stop to charge my car next to the Hobby Lobby in Burbank – I know the code to the restroom 😂
